Outer Dark Novel by Cormac McCarthy

Outer Dark (1968) is the second novel by Cormac McCarthy, a bleak Southern Gothic fable set in an unspecified, dreamlike region of Appalachia around the turn of the 20th century. The story follows two siblings, Rinthy and Culla Holme, who wander separately through a nightmarish landscape following the birth and abandonment of their incestuous child.
