Recalling the Caliphate: Decolonisation and World Order Book by S. Sayyid

Recalling the Caliphate: Decolonisation and World Order by S. Sayyid is a work of non-fiction, primarily falling under the genres of Political Science, Social Science, History, and Religion (specifically, political Islam/Islamicate studies). It is an academic and theoretical book that engages in postcolonial analysis.  The book offers a critical analysis of the continuing relevance of Islam in the modern world and argues against the notion that global history is merely an extension of Western history. Sayyid contends that Western narratives often rely on problematic assumptions about Islam, which lead to counter-productive government policies.
