Main Characters
Xu Qin: An adopted, wealthy emergency room physician.
Song Yan: An orphaned, working-class fire captain.
Plot Summary
High School Youth: Xu Qin and Song Yan meet and fall in love at age 15. Coming from vastly different backgrounds, their young romance faces intense pressure. Xu Qin's controlling adoptive mother strongly disapproves of Song Yan and orchestrates a forced breakup, even sabotaging Song Yan's early military/career path.
Ten Years Apart: The two lose contact and spend a decade apart. Song Yan works hard to rebuild his life and becomes a dedicated fire squadron leader, while Xu Qin trains to become a skilled ER doctor.
The Reunion: Their paths cross again in their early thirties through emergency rescue operations. Initially, Xu Qin encounters an exhausted Song Yan when his fire crew visits the hospital for an injury, though she does not immediately realize who he is at first.
Overcoming Trauma & Family: As they repeatedly work together on life-or-death rescue scenes, old feelings resurface. Song Yan confronts the pain of the past, and Xu Qin finally discovers the full extent of her adoptive family's manipulation.
Resolution: Xu Qin cuts ties with her toxic adoptive parents. Song Yan and Xu Qin reconcile, heal from their mutual past trauma, and commit to building a future together.
